Referee Information
Interested
in becoming a referee? To get started, review the
information on the Minnesota State
Referee Administration’s web site. Prospective referees
must attend one of two “New Referee Clinics”. They have to be
attended in order, but can be taken at any location. Returning
referees must recertify, but only have to attend one of the “Recertifying Referee Clinics”. The current clinic
schedule is available at the Minnesota
State Referee Administration’s web site.

FAQ:
At what time will the clinic start? It depends
on the course. Please
check and confirm start times when you register.
FAQ:
May I pay with one check? For the new clinics,
you should expect to write two checks, one to the MnSRC for the
registration and administration fees and one to the EPSC for the
room costs. You may
pay for multiple participants on each check.
FAQ:
If I’m in 7th grade, how can I take the
Grade 8 or Grade 9 classes? The clinics are listed by
referee grade and are not indicative of your grade in school. Anyone of any age can be a Grade 9 (or Grade 8) Referee.
FAQ:
Which clinic, Grade 8 or Grade 9, is right for me? The
Grade 9 is easier but the Grade 8 teaches you a great deal more.
If you are young (12 or so) and you only intend to work
for the Association, the Grade 9 is probably enough.
If you are older (14 or more) or if you want to be
assigned to be a center referee for the Club, the Grade 8 is
best. Still have
questions? Call Ken
at 942-5768.

FAQ:
At what time will the clinic start? It depends
on the course. Please

FAQ:
Why must I attend a recertification clinic?
Referees are required to recertify every year so that they may
stay current. Attending a clinic also ensures that you get the current year
badge.
FAQ:
Must I pay the USSF registration fee separately, on-line?
Yes, assuming you know your referee number.
When you pay on-line, please be sure to print out the
proof of payment and bring that printout to the clinic of your
choice.
FAQ:
Why must I pay the other fees? The rooms,
instructors, materials, and the administration of the referee
program add costs. You
should be prepared to pay for these at the clinic you attend.
