Fall Season

In this unprecedented time, we hope this message finds everyone doing well, staying healthy and being safe.

Our Board of Directors recently held a meeting to discuss the impact COVID-19 will have on the 2020 Fall Season while considering EPSA’s values, mission and our goal of executing thoughtful, safe procedures. This group consists of parents, within our community, who bring various perspectives to our discussions and considerations.

Taking into account, the state’s current rise of infections within the younger populations, along with current requirements by the City of Eden Prairie, MN Department of Health [MDH] and CDC guidelines to “return to play” on the soccer fields; EPSA has made the decision to not participate in our Fall programming at this time. We know this news will hit families differently – some families will feel relieved and some disappointed. As you know, many American professional sports leagues are returning on a modified basis, school decisions about returning to the classroom have not been made and club soccer leagues will not have any games any time before August. For those sports clubs that have returned to fields, some are saying it was “too soon” and/or “too complicated” causing concern about risk and liability.

Thank you all for your support of EPSA and your understanding as we all try to navigate the ever-changing information, news and decisions happening around us every day.
